Vivo Z1Pro set to in India soon: Expected price, specifications, availability and more
HIGHLIGHTS

Vivo has been teasing the device for quite some time on social media and yesterday, the company revealed it will be a Flipkart exclusive.

The Vivo Z1Pro is part of the company’s new online-focused approach and will be equipped with a Snapdragon 700-series SoC, along with a punch-hole camera for selfies.

It seems likely that the Vivo Z1 Pro could simply be a rebrand of the Vivo Z5X which has launched in China. However, the processor could see an upgrade.

The Vivo Z-series that was unveiled last month in China with the Vivo Z5X will come to India as well. Vivo is gearing up to debut the Vivo Z1Pro from the Z-series in India soon. The phone is part of the company’s new online-focused approach and will be equipped with a Snapdragon 700-series SoC along with a punch-hole camera for selfies.

Vivo has been teasing the device for quite some time on social media and yesterday, the company revealed it will be a Flipkart exclusive. Based on the features and specifications, it seems likely that Vivo Z1Pro could simply be a rebrand of the Vivo Z5X, considering the processor under the hood and the rumoured features are more or less similar.

The series is most likely aimed at the Gen-Z population, the same demographic that Samsung is also chasing with its Galaxy M-series as well as Realme with all its smartphones.

Vivo Z1Pro expected specifications and features

The Vivo Z1Pro is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 700-series processor. The Z5X is powered by the Snapdragon 710, but for India, Vivo might opt for a more recently launched SoC in the 700-series. Based on the highlights teased by the company, the Vivo Z1Pro will sport a triple-camera setup on the back and a punch-hole selfie camera drilled into the top corner of the display. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the back though, so an in-display fingerprint sensor is ruled out.

Vivo has been teasing an ‘in-display selfie camera’, which was in line with multiple announcements from Xiaomi, Oppo and Honor about their progress in hiding the front camera behind the display, no punch-hole, notch or anything. Based on the photos of the device, it turns out, that’s just Vivo’s marketing speak for a punch-hole camera.

Provided this is indeed the rebranded Vivo Z5X, the camera setup on the back could consist of a 16MP primary shooter with f/1.78 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and another 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The punch-hole camera on the front will have a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 lens.

Vivo Z1Pro expected price

If this is indeed the Vivo Z5X launched in China, the price of the Vivo Z1Pro should also be somewhat similar. The Vivo Z5X starts at CNY 1,398 (approximately Rs 14,000) for the 4GB+64GB variant while the 6GB+64GB retails at CNY 1,498 (roughly Rs 15,000) and the 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants come for CNY 1,698 and CNY 1,998 respectively (approximately Rs 17,000 and Rs 20,000). The pricing in India too is expected to remain under Rs 20,000 and will be competing against the likes of the newly announced Samsung Galaxy M40, Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Realme 3 Pro.
