Samsung has quietly introduced a new smartphone under its Mega-series – Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus. Spotted on Samsung’s official China website with a model name I9152P, the new smartphone/phablet supports dual-SIM and is considered as an upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 launched last year.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus sports a 5.8-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display. It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean along with Samsung’s TouchWiz. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU of unknown make.

The Galaxy Mega Plus features 8MP camera on the back and a 1.9MP front-facing unit. It has 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. The device will come  with software enhancements like Multi Window, Popup Play, Group Play, Story Album, S Translator and more.

The smartphone measures 162.6 x 82.4 x 8.99mm, while its weight is about 183.5 grams. The Galaxy Mega Plus is powered by a 2,600mAh battery.

Currently, there’s no word on the global availability the Mega Plus. But, we expect to have more information after Samsung hosts its much-awaited February 24 event in Barcelona where it is likely to showcase its next flagship – Galaxy S5.
