MSI has unveiled two QD-OLED models using the new RGB-stripe ‘V-Stripe’ pixel layout:

  • MSI MPG 341CQR X36
  • MSI MEG X (with added AI tools such as AI Tracker, AI Vision+, AI Scope and more)

Asus has announced two models built on the same panel type:

  • Asus PG34WCDN
  • Asus XG34WCDMS

First RGB-stripe OLED monitor (LG Display panel)

Asus also introduced PG27UCWM, the first monitor based on LG Display’s new 27-inch RGB-stripe OLED panel.

It has a 27-inch panel with 3840×2160 (4K) resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 240Hz native refresh rate at 4K, 480Hz refresh rate in Full HD dual-mode, Dolby Vision HDR, 99% DCI-P3, 0.03ms response, and IO options like DisplayPort 2.1A (80Gbps) and HDMI 2.1.

Why RGB-stripe matters and should you wait?

Earlier OLED and QD-OLED monitors often showed coloured fringing around text. The new RGB-stripe layouts align pixels horizontally, similar to LCD, improving sharpness and readability. That makes these panels more versatile for productivity, creative work, and gaming.

Until now, OLED monitors have been seen mainly as gaming-first products. With higher text clarity and broader connectivity, they now start to compete directly with premium IPS and Mini LED displays.

More models are likely to appear at CES 2026, where both brands are expected to confirm pricing, availability, and regional rollouts.

If you want QD-OLED or OLED monitors, it may be worth waiting a bit longer for these new monitors for the aforesaid benefits. Keep reading Digit.in for more news about these panels.
