Why is AWS down?

The outage appears to be associated with underlying infrastructure issues, including DNS problems or failure of the network load balancer, mirroring a similar outage that took place in October 2025 when a DNS resolution failure in DynamoDB led to a cascade effect. There is no official announcement from AWS yet, although it is generally reported to be the case that such outages typically stem from high traffic or misconfiguration during times when traffic is peaking.
