Apple iPhone 18 Pro leaks: Design, specifications, price range and more

HIGHLIGHTS

The iPhone 18 Pro may feature a cleaner front design with under-display Face ID, a smaller Dynamic Island, and a slightly thicker build for a larger battery.

It is expected to run on the new A20 Pro 2nm chip, include Apple’s custom C2 5G modem, and offer improved cooling with a stainless steel vapor chamber.

The camera system may get a new three-stack sensor and variable aperture, while pricing is likely to stay similar to the iPhone 17 Pro.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro leaks: Design, specifications, price range and more

Early chatter about Apple’s next flagship has already begun, even though the iPhone 17 lineup is still new. Emerging reports give a glimpse into what the iPhone 18 Pro may bring: subtle design tweaks, a handful of feature upgrades, and a clearer sense of what Apple is trying to do with its premium model. It’s expected to stick close to the overall look of the current generation, but a slightly thicker, heavier build might signal an increase in battery capacity. The front of the device could also get a cleaner look if Apple can shrink the top cutout or move parts of the Face ID system under the display. None of this is official yet, but all early clues paint a very promising picture of what Apple’s next Pro-tier phone would look like.

iPhone 18 Pro: Specifications (Expected)

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to look quite similar to the iPhone 17 Pro. However, leaks suggest it may come with a slightly thicker frame. The weight may also go up, with the iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to be around 243 grams. This increase is likely because Apple may use a larger battery.

The display size is expected to stay the same. One of the biggest changes could be the shift to under-display Face ID. This means the face unlock system may be hidden under the screen instead of being visible. If Apple does this, the front of the phone may look cleaner. The Dynamic Island is also expected to become smaller, which may give users a bit more screen space.

The iPhone 18 Pro will likely come with the new A20 Pro chip. This chip may be Apple’s first built on TSMC’s 2nm process, which should improve performance and battery efficiency. A custom C2 chip may replace Qualcomm’s 5G modem. It is expected to support mmWave 5G in the US. Apple may also add support for satellite-based 5G networks, which do not rely on regular mobile towers.

Furthermore, Apple is also expected to include a stainless steel vapour chamber in the iPhone 18 Pro, helping control heat better, especially during gaming or long usage.

iPhone 18 Pro: Camera (Expected)

Apple will likely continue with the triple rear camera setup. The main camera may get a new three-stack sensor from Samsung and could also include a variable aperture. This feature changes the lens opening to allow more light in low-light settings or reduce light in bright scenes. Apple may also simplify the Camera Control button by removing its touch-based functions. Instead, it may work fully under pressure. This button, first introduced in the iPhone 16 series, may get a simpler and easier design.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro: Colour (Expected)

Apple iPhone 18 Pro colors

Apple is rumoured to be testing at least three new colours for the iPhone 18 Pro. These include burgundy, coffee and purple. However, only one of these may make it to the final product. The phone may also come with translucent or colour-matched rear glass similar to current iPhone models.

iPhone 18 Pro: Price and availability (Expected)

It’s predicted that the iPhone 18 Pro will launch around September 2026. Although Apple has not announced prices as yet, early predictions have the iPhone 18 Pro positioned similarly to the current iPhone 17 Pro. Given that Apple has generally stuck to their price tiers between generations, a similar price seems more than likely unless there is justification based on significant hardware or technological upgrades that would cause them to alter this stance.
