HIGHLIGHTS

The smartwatch is an upgraded variant of the earlier LG Watch Urbane and offers higher resolution, bigger battery, and more RAM.

LG has launched LG Watch Urbane 2, which is the first Android Wear smartwatch with 4G LTE connectivity support. This ensures that users will not have to rely on their smartphones for making calls or browsing the Internet. They can do so directly from LG’s newly launched smartwatch via a nano-SIM.

The smartwatch sports a 1.38-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 480p. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz along with 768MB of RAM. The Watch Urbane 2 offers 4GB of internal storage and has a 570mAh battery. It also comes with 16 watch faces and apps like workout tips. It is also dust and water resistant and offers the ability to enable/disable the Ambient display using the watch’s crown. There are also multiple strap colour options and one can choose from Space Black, Opal Blue, Luxe White and Signature Brown. It will come to Korea and USA first followed by its release in selected markets of Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

The device is an upgrade to the current LG Watch Urbane smartwatch launched earlier this year. The newly launched smartwatch has higher display resolution, battery and RAM as compared to the first generation watch. The first gen watch had 380p resolution, 410mAh battery and 512MB of RAM. The other specs remains the same for both the smartwatches.

Earlier in the day, LG also unveiled LG V10 smartphone. It comes with a 2.1-inch secondary display which can be used to display notifications, set app shortcuts for faster access, and show informations like weather, date, time, battery level, etc. The display also supports ‘always on’ feature which means one can check information on the it even when the main display is on. In other highlighting features, the phone has dual 5MP cameras and dual front facing speakers. The dual camera can be used to click 80-degree regular selfies as well as 120-degree wide angle selfies. Additionally, there are rumours that LG might be launching a smartphone in October which could be named as either LG G4 Pro or G4 Note. It is speculated to run on Snapdragon 820. Earlier, it was also reported that it has trademarked the name LG G4 Note.
