With two more weeks of the 21-day lockdown still left, there is surging demand in internet usage among Indians. This is also the time when a majority of people working from home could be exhausting their daily data limit before the day is over. As such, there is a need for additional data while people are working from home, and telecom companies are stepping up to cater to it.

Majority of internet users in India rely on mobile data and wireless broadband for connectivity at home. The number, according to TRAI is at a whopping 642.90 million while a meagre 19.14 million use wired broadband connections. This means that a lot of professionals are using mobile data to work from home, and as a result, exhausting their data packs quickly.

Telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea anyway offer additional data via top-up plans, but now the operators are raising the data limits in the main prepaid plans as well.

Here we take a look at the most data-heavy and affordable plans to last the lockdown.

Reliance Jio

While most users subscribe to the 1GB or 2GB daily data plan, Jio also has a higher 3GB data per day plan which is quite affordable. It’s priced at Rs 349 for a 28-day validity and also offers 1000 non-Jio minutes along with 100 SMS per day.

There are also top-up data vouchers you can take advantage of. Starting from Rs 21 for 2GB (+200 minutes Non-Jio minutes), going to Rs 51 for 6GB (+500 minutes Non-Jio minutes)  and Rs 101 for 12GB (+1000 minutes Non-Jio minutes).

Vodafone Idea

Vodafone Idea users have the best deal out of all, frankly. The operator has introduced a double data offer that literally does what it says. The base prepaid plan priced at Rs 249 now offers 3GB 4G data instead of 1.5GB data per day for 28 days. Similarly, the Rs 399 and the Rs 599 plans are also offering 3GB 4G data per day but for 56 and 84 days respectively. This also includes unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day, along with access to Vodafone Play and Zee5.

Top up plans starts from Rs 16 for 1GB data for 24 hours, Rs 48 for 3GB data, Rs 98 for 6GB data, both valid for 28 days.

Bharti Airtel

Airtel is not presently offering additional data with its plan but the operator’s prepaid plans are quite affordable. The top tier prepaid plan is priced at Rs 398 for 28 days and offers 3GB data per day along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS a day. You can also extend the validity by going for the Rs 558 plan which offers 56 days validity.

If not, you can stick to a lesser 1.5-2GB per day prepaid plan and top up with a Rs 98 voucher for 6GB of additional data or Rs 48 for 3GB.
