Airtel has announced that it is extending its Surprise Offer for postpaid users by another three billing cycles. Dubbed the Monsoon Surprise offer, users will be able to avail 30GB of additional data for three months. In a mail to customer, Bharti Airtel CEO, Gopal Vittal stated, “This is our way of saying thank you for being part of the Airtel family & for having trusted us and believed in us over the years.” Users will have to claim the offer via the My Airtel app after July 1.

To recall, Airtel started offering 30GB of free data to its postpaid users back in March under its Surprise Offer. This gave them 10GB of additional data per month for three months. It should be noted that back in December, Airtel had filed an appeal to the Telecom Disputed Settlement and Appelate Tribunal (TDSAT), challenging TRAI’s decision to let Reliance Jio extent its promotional offers beyond the stipulated 90 days. This came after Jio extended the Welcome Offer via another similar offer called the Happy New Year Offer.

The extension of the Monsoon Surprise offer comes just a week after Vodafone announced its Supernight pack that offers users unlimited Internet access for five hours everyday. The pack is priced at Rs. 29 and offers no FUP between 1:00am and 6:00am. The pack is applicable for 3G and 4G devices, and the exact price may vary from circle to circle. The pack can be purchased at any time, but will only be active during the prescribed time period. Users can buy the pack by dialing *444*4# on their phone, or via online and offline channels.
