Micromax's Yu brand has been teasing the price drop over the weekend.
Micromax launched the third smartphone under its Yu brand, the Yu Yureka Plus, just a couple of weeks ago for Rs. 9,999 and offers good specs and featues for that price point. If you are planning to buy one, then now is the time to buy it.
Mircromax has confirmed the surprise that it was teasing over the weekend and as speculated, the price of Yu Yureka Plus has been reduced by Rs. 1,000. It is definitly a good deal for all the Yu lovers considering the fact that its predecessor, Yu Yureka, is also selling at the price of Rs. 8,999.
This price cut is applicable for its sale on the 6th of August at 12:00 p.m. The registration for the sale has started and you can proceed to Amazon India's website straight away for reserving your spot.
So, it seems the price of the Yu Yureka Plus will be dropped to Rs. 8,999. Yu just posted a teaser on Facebook.

Talking about the specs, the phone has 5.5" screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 2 GB RAM, 1.5 Ghz Octa core Snapdragon 615 processor, 13 MP rear shooter with flash, 5 MP front shooter, and 16 GB of ROM. It also comes with Lollipop 5.0.2 based CM 12 out of the box as compared to the Yu Yureka which came with KitKat based CM 11 and was upgraded to Lollipop later.
There is no doubt that Micromax is trying to give consumers one more reason to buy, or at least consider, the Yu Yureka Plus considering that there are various options like Lenovo K3 Note and Moto G2 available for Rs. 10k. One very good reason for going with Yu Yureka Plus is CyanogenMod as it is the only brand to offer CM out of the box in India via an exclusive partnership with Cyanogen Inc. However, it wasn't an easy thing for Micromax to do as they had to be a part of a controvery with OnePlus regarding who will launch CM based smartphones India.
