The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be available in India in two storage options, and are priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999 respectively.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been launched in India. While the phone was launched in two SoC configurations in China, the Indian version will be powered only by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC. It will be available in two storage options – 16GB and 32GB, and is being priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999 respectively. Registrations begin today, and the first sale will occur on March 9 at 2pm on Mi.com and Amazon.in.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch display. It uses an IPS LCD panel, with a display resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This is Xiaomi’s first smartphone to sport an all-metal unibody design, and weighs 164 grams. As mentioned, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, making the Redmi Note 3 the first device to be powered by this SoC in India. This is a hexa-core chipset which which uses two Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. It also uses a new Adreno 510 GPU. The phone will be available in two storage options – 32GB and 16GB, with 3GB and 2GB of RAM respectively.

The device uses a 16MP rear camera aided by a dual-LED flash. The camera also supports phase detection autofocus. For the front, the Redmi Note 3 uses a 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with a 4050mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging, and below the rear camera is the fingerprint scanner. Check out how the phone compares to its rivals.

Xiaomi is also expected to launch its flagship Mi 5 smartphone in India, in a few months. It was unveiled at MWC 2016, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, with 3GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB of internal storage. The company also unveiled a Pro variant of the Mi 5, with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will offer support for microSD cards. Xiaomi is using a 16MP rear camera on the phone, and a 4MP UltraPixel camera on the front.
