The Xiaomi Mi 6X sports a 5.99-inch display available in three variants and may launch in India as the Xiaomi Mi A2.
After weeks of teasers, Xiaomi has finally launched its Mi 6X smartphone in China. The new smartphone is expected to be launched in India sometime in the future as its predecessor, the Mi 5X arrived on Indian shores as the Mi A1. So the new phone might come to India as the Xiaomi Mi A2. However, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed if this will be the case. In China, the Mi 6X is available in three variants. The 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1599 (approx Rs 16,900), the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1799 (approx Rs 19,900). The top-of-the-line variant with 6GB RAM/128GB storage is priced at CNY 1999 (approx Rs 21,100).
Coming to the specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 6X sports a 5.99-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC and sports a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is 7.6mm thick and is equipped with a 3010mAh battery. The Xiaomi Mi 6X features QC 3.0 fast charging, which the company claims can charge the phone up to 50% in 30 minutes.
At the back of the phone is a dual-rear camera setup consisting of 12MP + 20 MP cameras. The 12MP Sony IMX486 rear camera sports a f/1.75 aperture with 1.25μm pixels, while teh second is a Sony IMX376 sensor. At the front is also a 20MP Sony IMX376 camera. The phone also comes with AI-scene detection, that allows the camera to optimize the image after it had been taken. The Mi 6X also comes with face unlock.
Xiaomi is also expected to launch a new smartphone called the Xiaomi Redmi S2. The unannounced smartphone was spotted on TENAA a few days back and while the name of the device was not revealed, a report by XDA Developers states that the certification code matches up to the internal code found in the firmware files they had previously obtained. As per the TENAA listing, the Redmi S2 sports a 5.99-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The phone is expected to be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor and is expected to be available in three variants. These include 2GB RAM/16GB storage, 3GB RAM/32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup and features a 3000mAh battery. It should also be noted that the phone is tipped to be running Android Oreo v8.1.
