As you must be aware, the Xiaomi 14 series offers two smartphones: the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Both of these smartphones were unveiled today in China. Out of the many features that these smartphones offer, the key features that stand out are – HyperOS, cutting-edge Leica camera lens, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. HyperOS
Along with the smartphones, Xiaomi’s new Android skin, HyperOS was also rolled out today. In addition to Android, it is also based on the self-developed Vela system. Xiaomi is ready to bid adieu to MIUI and is switching to HyperOS. HyperOS debuts with the Xiaomi 14 series. Both the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro run on HyperOS. This new OS offers a more visually appealing and modern look. But then at the same time, when compared to MIUI 14, the HyperOS is quite similar. We do get an improved Control Center, new lock screen clocks, wallpapers, and new editing options for font style, wallpaper effects, and more for the widgets and other options on the lock screen. Along with that, there is also a new UI for the camera app, dialer, and weather. Well, some people suggest that this closely resembles iOS 17.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Xiaomi 14 is not only the first smartphone to carry HyperOS but it is also one of the first smartphones that pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This is the newest flagship chipset from Qualcomm. Apart from Xiaomi, we could spot the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset on iQOO 12, Realme GT 5 Pro, OnePlus 12, Vivo X100+, OPPO Find X7 series, Samsung Galaxy S24 series, a new Motorola flagship, ASUS ROG series in the future.

Leica Summilux Lens
Another exciting feature of the Xiaomi 14 series is the Leica Summilux Lens. It seems that the Xiaomi 14 series is all about the firsts, it is the first smartphone to carry the Leica Summilux Lens which has been designed specifically for smartphones by the German brand. It is called the best in the segment for “smartphone photography” and Xiaomi promises an exhilarating photography experience.
It seems like Xiaomi did take the word “flagship” way too seriously with the Xiaomi 14 series. I am high-key waiting for the smartphone to drop in India so that I can try it and find out if it fits its claims of being the best in so many segments.
