Oppo R15 with ‘notch’ display could be an early look at the OnePlus 6
HIGHLIGHTS

If OnePlus' track record of sourcing designs from Oppo is anything to go by, the OnePlus 6 is going to look a lot like the new Oppo R15 which in turn looks identical to the iPhone X.

The Oppo R15 which officially released in China in three variants, can be considered as an early look at the upcoming OnePlus 6. After all, OnePlus has been known to source the design of its flagships from its parent company, Oppo. The OnePlus 5 looked almost identical to the Oppo R11, for instance, while the OnePlus 5T looked a lot like the Oppo R11S.

If the track record is anything to go by, the rumoured OnePlus 6 may look a lot like the Oppo R15, which in turn looks identical to the iPhone X. The Oppo R15 comes with a 6.28-inch OLED panel with a taller 19:9 aspect ratio of Full HD+ resolution, replete with a notch on top. Interestingly, all the leaked renders of the OnePlus 6 we have seen so far have had the notch on top.

The Oppo R15 released in a ceramic “Dream Mirror” edition as well, which is unlikely to be seen on the OnePlus 6.

Nevertheless, the Oppo R15 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core chipset and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. There is a 12-megapixel dual camera stack at the back and a 5-megapixel camera dual camera setup at the front, housed within the notch along with the earpiece.

It’s now all but clear that Android phones this year are going to show a lot of love to the notch.
