It looks like Sony will once again be holding a press conference during the annual IFA event in Berlin on August 30. The company has reportedly sent out emails to publications, informing them of the same. The company is scheduled to start its conference at 1PM CET, on August 30, which is 5:30PM IST. IFA is scheduled to begin a day later, on August 31, and go on till September 5.
Speculation suggests that Sony may launch the Xperia XZ3 smartphone during the event. An unnamed Sony smartphone was listed on GFXBench last month and reports suggest that it might be the Xperia XZ3. As per the listing, the phone may come with Android P, and sport a 5.9-inch display and a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. The phone is tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, with 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The listing suggests that the phon may feature a 13MP front camera. At the back, the phone may feature dual-rear cameras with a 19MP +12MP setup. There is also the possibility that the company may unveil a compact version of the Xperia XZ3 as well.
Last year, the company launched two new smartphones as well as a number of audio devices during the same event. The company unveiled the Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact. Both devices are powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset and feature the company’s 19MP Motion Eye camera and offered 960fps slow motion recording. The two phones differed in terms of screen size and storage. While the standard Xperia XZ1 comes with a 5.2-inch FHD HDR display and 64GB internal storage, Xperia XZ1 Compact features a 4.6-inch HD display and 32GB of storage.
