Samsung has launched three new phones in India, devices which were announced in the beginning of February – the Galaxy Ace, Fit, and Mini. The last, Galaxy Mini, is being launched in India as the Galaxy Pop (S5570).
The three new phones are all full-touch devices with Android 2.2 Froyo installed, skinned with TouchWiz 3.0. Other common features include Quicktype by SWYPE, and Samsung’s new Social Hub. The Ace and Fit, the more expensive of the three, are also geared more towards professionals, with ThinkFree Office (a document editor) pre-installed.
[RELATED_ARTICLE]Based on their maximum retail prices, the Galaxy Ace (Rs. 18,290) and Fit (Rs. 12,860) look ready to take on the Motorola Defy, and the LG Optimus One respectively. The Galaxy Pop is aggressively priced at Rs. 11,198, poised to take on the bustling lower-end of the mid-range Android phone market in India, replacing the Samsung Galaxy 5 and Galaxy 3. (Numerous reports however, and your comments, observe that the three phones are available at much lower than official prices on the streets, and on some online retailers. As is usually the case.) All the phones come with a 2GB microSD card bundled.
Samsung also proudly announced that these three new Galaxy models take the number of devices in Samsung India Galaxy family to seven.
