Samsung's Galaxy A - for Korea only

The Samsung M100S Galaxy A, an Android 2.1 phone, was released recently, but unfortunately only for Korea. We hope Samsung decides to get this phone into global portfolio soon, as it certainly looks desirable, with a 720MHz processor, 3.7-inch WVGA OLED screen, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, HSDPA/HSPA 3G connectivity, and 720p video playback along with DivX/Xvid and DMB-T. The phone also comes with an 8GB microSD card straight out of the box. After reading these specifications however, you might be thinking that the phone is an underpowered version of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S, and so, you will probably not feel too unhappy about it not coming to the Indian market anytime soon.

On a related note, a rumour of a new phone from Samsung’s stables has surfaced, called the I5800/I5801 Galaxy 3. The phone’s rumours however come without images, and barely any specifications, apart from its Android OS (version not disclosed), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an unusual 2:1 aspect screen, at 240x480. Unfortunately there is no more information about the device, or its expected release.
