Samsung Galaxy Note III to have 5.68-inch display, run Android 4.3: Report
HIGHLIGHTS

Details about the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note III have surfaced online. The device is expected to launch with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and house a 3200mAh battery.

Samsung is expected to unveil the anticipated Note III at an event on September 4. In the past few months, we have seen quite a few rumours circulating about the phablet but now it seems that the final specifications of the tablet are out in the open.

It seems that just like the Galaxy S4, which had two variants (one running on a Qualcomm quad-core chipset and the other on an Exynos octa-core chipset), the Galaxy Note III too will be available in two variants – SM-N900 and SM-N9005.

The Galaxy Note III SM-N900 and SM-N9005 will have a 5.68-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixel) Super AMOLED display. Both will hose a 13MP rear camera and will offer 16/32/64GB built-in storage expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card. A 3200mAh battery will power both the phablets.

The difference in the two smartphones comes with respect to the power under the hood. The Galaxy Note III SM-N900 is thought to run on a 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5420
chipset where as the Galaxy Note III SM-N9005’s CPU is still not known, but expected to be quad-core. We think that the chipset on the SM-N9005 will be Qualcomm, particularly, the Snapdragon 800 SoC with quad-core Krait 400 CPU.

The Note III SM-N900 will have an ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU and the RAM in unconfirmed but speculations strongly suggest that it will be 3GB. The Note III
SM-N9005 on the other hand has an unconfirmed GPU but 3GB RAM is confirmed. The Note III SM-N900 will not support LTE where as the SM-N9005 will. Both the variants will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean straight out of the box with the Samsung TouchWiz UI.

What remains to be seen is how Samsung revamps the S Pen. From the original Note to the Note II, the S Pen did see some changes. It became better built, longer and introduced with it the hover mode. A few more apps that take advantage of the S Pen’s capabilities were also introduced.

Samsung looks all set to unleash the Note III to the world. Information is circulating the Internet, which suggests that the smartphone has passed the DLNA certifications.
