Samsung Galaxy A70 will launch in India next week and the Galaxy A80 will debut in the country in May, the company has said. According to several media reports on the internet, the Galaxy A70 will fall under the price bracket of Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000 and the Galaxy A80 may be priced in between Rs 45,000-Rs 50,000. Citing Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Samsung India, a report says that the Galaxy A-Series phones, including the newly-launched handsets, will be available both online and offline.

Samsung unveiled these phones at three places and Digit was present at the launch in Bangkok. The Samsung Galaxy A80 features a slide-out and rotating camera mechanism, while the Galaxy A70 has a 32MP camera on both the front as its unique feature. These devices are aimed at the Gen-Z (the generation succeeding millennials), which are highly active on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, among others.

Samsung Galaxy A80 features a 6.7-inch near edge-to-edge OLED display with minimal bezels and 1080×2400 pixels resolution with 20:1 aspect ratio. The Galaxy A80 gets an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and the display doubles up as the earpiece by reflecting sound through the screen while on a call. Under the hood, the phone has the recently-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset along with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

In the camera department, the Galaxy A80 ships with a triple camera setup which includes a 48MP camera sensor with a lens having f/2.0 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle sensor offering 123-degree field of view and a third 3D ToF sensor. There is an LED flash and a laser autofocus  in the camera module, which rises from the back and then flips to become the front camera. The entire motion takes around 1.2 seconds to complete and looks quite cool.

The Samsung Galaxy A70 also features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a U-shaped notch, and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The rear panel is made of glass with a triple camera unit arranged vertically along the edges. The camera setup includes a 32MP sensor with a lens having f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with 123-degree field of view and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front is another 32MP sensor with the lens having f/2.0 aperture. Under the hood, the Galaxy A70 runs on the Snapdragon 675 paired with either 6GB/8GB RAM and 64/128GB storage.

Samsung India aims $4 billion business from the Galaxy A-Series by the end of this year. It claims that just in the first 40 days starting March 1, it sold two million units of the Galaxy A50, the Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A10, reportedly, the revenue turnover from the phones is $500 million. The company also says that it is also working on an A-Series phone in the Rs 30,000-Rs 45,000 price segment.
