Samsung 2026 roadmap leaks: Galaxy S26 models, Z Flip 8 FE and Z Fold 8 surface in internal testing
New model numbers hint at Samsung’s 2026 Galaxy S26 and foldable lineup.
Leak suggests three S26 models and three foldables, including a Z Flip 8 FE.
Mid-tier S26 naming remains unclear between Edge and Plus.
Samsung 2026 smartphone roadmap has started taking shape much earlier than expected, thanks to a fresh set of model numbers spotted through internal software testing channels. These model numbers give the first early hints about what Samsung may introduce next year across its flagship S series and foldable lineup. While the company usually works on its software and hardware far ahead of launch timelines, these early signs provide a clearer picture of how Samsung plans to refresh its premium devices. The details also suggest that Samsung will continue to strengthen both its traditional and foldable categories with updated models spread across different price segments, giving users more options in the high-end market.
SurveySamsung 2026: New model numbers
The new list, marked under the internal code B8Q8, includes six model numbers. These numbers are believed to represent Samsung’s main premium phones for 2026. The list includes SM-S942, SM-S947, SM-S948, SM-F971, SM-F776 and SM-F976. While Samsung has not confirmed any of these devices, the pattern matches the company’s past naming style for both the S series and its foldable phones.

Samsung 2026: Devices expected names
Based on earlier reports and Samsung’s naming history, the SM-S942 model is likely linked to the Galaxy S26 Pro. The SM-S947 could be a mid-tier S26 model, though there is still confusion about whether Samsung will call it the S26 Edge or the S26 Plus. The SM-S948 is expected to be the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra.
In the foldable range, the SM-F971 is said to be the Z Flip 8 FE, while the SM-F776 could become the standard Z Flip 8. The SM-F976 is expected to be Samsung’s next large foldable, likely the Z Fold 8.

S26 mid-tier model
One of the most notable gaps in the leaked list is the unclear branding around the SM-S947 model. Samsung recently experimented with the Edge name in its S series, which created confusion about how the company plans to position the middle model between the base and ultra versions. As of now, only Samsung is aware of whether the S26 lineup will continue with the Edge name or return to the more common Plus branding. This naming decision could also affect how the company prices and promotes the device next year.
Samsung 2026: Foldable lineup
New foldable model numbers confirm that Samsung will keep on offering both Flip and Fold categories in the future. Moreover, an FE variant of the Z Flip implies that Samsung will keep a budget-friendly option available for the foldable segment. This may help the company target more users interested in the foldable category with flexible pricing options. The comeback of the Z Fold series will also mean that Samsung will keep its ultimate large foldable device category for premium consumers.
