It will be available via Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Homes.
Redmi was a bit late to the party when it announced its 64MP Redmi Note 8 Pro in India last month. The company also chose to go with a Mediatek processor on its phone instead of a Qualcomm SoC, which was a bit surprising. This new handset will be up for sale today in India via Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Home Stores. The smartphone’s base variant is priced at Rs 14,999 and it goes up against the likes of the Realme 5 Pro, Realme XT and other handsets in the same price range.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset and it comes in three variants. There’s a 6GB RAM + 64GB version, a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version. Additionally, it sports liquid cooling that is said to enable a better gaming experience. Equipped with a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD display, the handset sports a waterdrop notch and gets a curved Gorilla Glass 5 protected panel on the back.
In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a quad rear camera setup that consists of a 64MP sensor by Samsung. There is also an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP sensor with a macro lens. On the front sits a 20MP camera. The smartphone is backed by a 4500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging and it runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.
