One can register for the upcoming Alpha sale by paying Rs 855
Redmi recently announced the launch date of its upcoming flagship and mid-range handsets, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro. The Redmi smartphones will be announced officially in the country on July 17 but ahead of the launch, the handsets are going up for a Pre-launch Alpha Sale pre-booking where customers interested in buying the handset can “Get the upcoming Xiaomi flagship smartphone before anyone else.” The Pre-launch Alpha Sale of the Redmi K20 series is slated to go live at 12pm today via Flipkart and Xiaomi’s own website. The Redmi K20 Pro is the company’s flagship handset with Snapdragon 855 SoC, while the Redmi K20 comes with a mid-range Snapdragon 730 processor.
The Redmi K20, K20 Pro Alpha Sale will commence today at 12pm via Flipkart and Xiaomi’s website. One can participate in it by paying Rs 855 and they will get access to the Alpha Sale on Xiaomi’s website and a Flipkart Gift voucher of the same value on Flipkart. Buyers will then need to return on July 17 to buy the handset and those who pre-booked the phone via Xiaomi’s website will automatically get a discount of Rs 855 on their purchase. On Flipkart, users who participated in the Alpha Sale need to add the voucher to their Flipkart account.
It should be noted that participating in today’s Pre-launch Alpha Sale pre-bookings doesn’t guarantee the reservation of a unit. The phones will go on sale on July 17 and one will have to test their luck to get them, as is usually the case with Xiaomi phones. Additionally, those who participate in today’s Alpha Sale via Xiaomi will need to purchase the phone between 8:00pm on July 17 and 11:59pm on July 18.
Both, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones feature a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. The display is said to feature a 91.6 percent screen-to-body-ratio and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Both handsets feature a triple-rear camera setup and a single sensor on the front. The K20 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, which is coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 Pro comes equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture lens.
There’s 13MP secondary sensor with a wide-angle lens that has an f/2.4 aperture with a 124.89 degrees field-of-view. An 8MP sensor with a lens sporting an aperture of f/2.4, and an LED flash completes the camera module. On the front is a 20MP sensor in the pop-up mechanism.
The Redmi K20 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset. As mentioned above, the camera setup on the phone is similar to what it is in the Pro variant, however, the 48MP camera on the K20 uses a Sony IMX582 sensor instead of the IMX586.
