Oppo F9 Pro price, specs and features explored ahead of India launch today
The Oppo F9 Pro will launch in India today. The smartphone will carry a ‘waterdrop’ notch display with thin bezels. The phone’s gradient colour design and Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charging tech will be the USP of the device.
After teasing the launch of the F9 Pro for weeks, Oppo is finally launching the device in India today. The Oppo F9 Pro is a sleek-looking device with a waterdrop-shaped notch on the display which houses a single front-facing camera. The smartphone’s images were already outed by the company in its teasers and it comes with a gradient colour finish to add to its visual appeal. The Oppo F9 Pro will also feature the company’s proprietary VOOC Flash Charge tech, which will be another feature Oppo banks on to market the smartphone in India. Oppo F9 Pro Specs
Oppo has confirmed that the F9 Pro will feature its FHD+ Waterdrop Screen with a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. The front camera is incorporated in a the tiny notch, also seen on the recently launched Oppo R17, and the screen has a thick chin. The display is expected to be 6.3-inches tall with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone could feature a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage.
The Oppo F9 Pro has been seen featuring horizontally placed dual-cameras with an LED flash on the back. A fingerprint sensor is also located at the back of the phone. There is a toned down version of the Oppo F9 Pro, called Oppo F9, with a similar screen and back panel design. The F9 Pro might feature a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the back and a 25MP sensor at the front. The same 25MP sensor is also seen on the recently launched Chinese variant of the Oppo R17. Camera modes such as HDR, portrait, AI scene recognition, AI Beautification and others are expected to be included in the device.
The entire package could be powered by a 3,500mAh battery that supports Oppo's proprietary VOOC charging technology. The technology applies a low voltage fast charging mechanism to deliver quick charging. With its standardised configuration 5V/4A, it can achieve a charging speed four-times faster than conventional 5V/1A charging technology. VOOC also ensures a safe charging process. It is claimed to have five layers of protection from the charging adapter to smartphone, including low temperature and voltage.
Oppo F9 Pro Price in India
The Oppo F9 Pro could be priced under Rs 30,000 in India. There is no official word on its India price but we expect Oppo to reveal this by 2PM-3PM IST in the afternoon. The launch event for the Oppo F9 Pro will begin at 12:30PM IST and the price of the phone will be revealed thereafter. The Oppo F9, which comes was launched in Vietnam earlier, is priced at approximately Rs 23,300 (directly converted) for the 4GB RAM variant.
