The Oppo F5 features a 20MP front facing shooter and its camera app is tweaked with AI capabilities which recognise and highlight facial features. The device sports a 6-inch Full HD+ display with 84 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Oppo’s latest selfie centric smartphone, the Oppo F5 is going up for sale for the first time in India today. The smartphone was launched in India last week and was up for pre orders till now. It will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Amazon India and offline channels starting today. The Oppo F5 was released in two variants of 4GB RAM/32GB storage and 6GB RAM/64GB storage, but only the 4GB RAM model is up for sale.

The Oppo F5 sports a new design with 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. It features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and a taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 chipset coupled with a Mali-G71 graphics processor. As mentioned above, the smartphone comes in two variants: 4GB RAM model with 32GB of onboard storage and 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded upto 256GB via a microSD card.

The main highlight of the Oppo F5's is its 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and a larger 1/2.8-inch sensor. Its camera app is tweaked with new AI capabilities to highlight features like eyes, nose, jawline or cheekbones in selfies. The device is also capable of shooting selfies in portrait mode, which artificially blurs the background. The device sports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and supports 1080p video recording.

The Oppo F5 runs on the company’s ColorOS 3.2 atop Android 7.1 Nougat. The smartphone is backed by a 3200mAh battery and uses a microUSB port for charging. The Oppo F5 is priced at Rs 19,990 for the 4GB variant and at Rs 24,990 for the 6GB model. The smartphone comes in Black and Gold colours.
