OnePlus announces six commitment points after first ‘Open Ears’ community event
HIGHLIGHTS

The company discussed its products in the first Open Ears event and announced that it will work on six points for the betterment of its services.

Earlier this month, OnePlus announced of hosting its first ever in India on June 7. The aim of the event was to garner feedback and suggestions about its devices and services from the users and theme of the event was discussions of the company’s products. Thirty people were selected for attending the event and contributing towards the “future of OnePlus." They were divided into six groups and after discussions and brainstorming about the company’s different products, OnePlus has described six commitment points that it will work on.

The commitment points, which OnePlus has decided upon from this edition of Open Ears Forum are: Making FileDash easier to discover and improving its compatibility so that it works with other OnePlus applications. The OnePlus Switch app will be updated with support for enhanced data backup and desktop backup capabilities. One can expect improvements to the selfie Portrait mode on the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T, along with corrections on the “Oil Painting Effect”. The latest open beta update for the two phones does bring these improvements, along with integrated Google Lens support. Finally, Shelf will soon support Dark Theme and more accent colours will also be introduced for the theme.

The Open Ears community event was announced soon after the company launched the OnePlus 6 smartphone. Our review of the OnePlus 6 reads, “The OnePlus 6 is built for speed from the ground up. The smartphone has the history of being a flagship killer, but despite the top-of-the-class hardware, the compromises in OnePlus phones have also remained consistent, so much so, that it now acts as a deterrent to buy this over an expensive flagship. The OnePlus 6 is still just as fast, even more beautiful but has the same flaws as last time.” You can read the entire review here.
