Carl Pei led smartphone company Nothing is gearing up for a new smartphone launch in March. The Nothing Phone 3a series will be launched on March 4,2025. The series will include two smartphones – the Nothing Phone 3a and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro.
SurveyInterestingly, there is no “Plus” variant this time, leaving some confusion about whether the Phone 3a Pro is a successor to the Nothing Phone 2a Plus or if the Plus series will continue separately. Ahead of the launch, the company has been teasing some details about the Nothing Phone 3a, and the rest is fueled by rumours and leaks online. Let’s take a look at all that we know about the smartphone so far.
Nothing Phone 3a expected specifications
On the design front, the Nothing Phone 3a can feature a new button. It can resemble the iPhone’s action button in functionality. In addition to that, the Phone 3a can sport a 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, making it the largest Nothing phone to date.
Nothing has confirmed that the phones will feature Qualcomm chipsets, moving away from MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro and 7350 Pro, which powered the previous generation. CEO Carl Pei recently revealed that the Snapdragon chipset in the Phone 3a series will offer 25% faster CPU performance and a 72% quicker NPU (Neural Processing Unit) compared to the Phone 2a Plus. While the exact chipset remains unknown, rumours suggest it could be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. It will likely run NothingOS 3.1 based on Android 15, alongside the iconic Glyph Interface.
For cameras, we can get a triple camera setup this time with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, we can expect a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. Lastly, it can carry a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging just like its predecessor.
