Nokia Bandit: 6-inch Windows Phone phablet reportedly coming soon
Nokia is expected to launch a large screen smartphone this year running on the Windows Phone OS. The device has a 6-inch 1080p display.
Nokia is planning to add another device to its Windows Phone devices portfolio. The new device, thought to be called the Bandit, is expected to have a 6-inch display with a full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the Bandit will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor.
The rumoured Nokia Bandit will house a 20MP rear-facing camera. Just like the Lumia 925, the smartphone will have a slight hump at the back to accommodate the camera. Staying true to the Lumia high-end smartphone tradition, the Bandit will have a polycarbonate body and a thin and light design.
Microsoft is also said to be working on the Windows Phone OS to support large screen full HD devices such as the Bandit. Additions to the OS will add the ability to house an extra line of live tiles on the large screen display. The latest Windows Phone update, GDR3, also includes rotation lock, a Driving Mode option, and some minor UI changes.
Nokia has steady launched its Lumia series smartphones globally targeting a variety of price brackets starting with the low cost Lumia 520 for the entry level Windows Phone audience going up to the Lumia 1020 for the high end Windows Phone enthusiast. We recently got our hands on a Lumia 925 and compared it to the Lumia 920. The camera on the 925 is of course the highlight and we see which Lumia has the batter camera.
