Moto Z3 Play leaked renders show side mounted fingerprint scanner, new Deep Indigo colour
HIGHLIGHTS

The smartphone is seen featuring a taller 18:9 display aspect ratio screen and the 3.5mm headphone jack is missing from the device.

After releasing the mid-range Moto G6 and Moto E5 series of smartphones, the company is now expected to soon unveil its flagship Moto Z3 smartphone. Details of the Moto Z3 Play have been circulating on the internet as leaks and concept renders, and now Evan Blass has tweeted a new render of the Moto Z3 Play in Deep Indigo colour. The new render is in line with the previously leaked image of the smartphone and suggests that the device will feature an 18:9 display aspect ratio and the fingerprint sensor could be relocated from the front to the right edge of the smartphone, integrated with the power button.

If the new render is to be believed, the Moto Z3 Play will come with added screen real estate for the user as compared to its predecessor but the company has not jumped on the notch bandwagon. The fingerprint sensor is now integrated with the power button, which sits below the volume rocker on the right edge of the device. There is a SIM tray on the top edge, whereas the USB Type-C port rests on the bottom edge of the device. There is no sign of a 3.5mm audio jack, which is not surprising given that nearly all smartphone manufacturers are ditching the headphone jack from their flagship devices. On the rear is the familiar ring-shaped dual camera setup and the Motorola Batwings logo is seen in the middle and the pogo pins for Moto Mods support are still placed at the bottom.

The Moto Z3 Play was also recently spotted on the US FCC listing where some key specs of the device were revealed. As per the listing, the smartphone is expected to come with 4GB RAM with 32GB storage and there could also be a 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant for non-US regions. It could feature a 5MP front-facing camera and could be backed by a 3,000mAh battery. It is rumoured to feature a 12MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup and could launch sometime in June this year.
