HIGHLIGHTS

The leaked Moto E5 Plus images also suggest that the phone may have an 18:9 aspect ratio with a 1440 x 720p resolution.

Moto is expected to launch its 2018 line of smartphones soon. Just last month we saw leaked images of the Moto G6 smartphones and now images of an alleged Moto E5 Plus are doing rounds on the internet. Going by the images leaked on Weibo, the Moto E5 Plus may feature a taller 18:9 aspect ratio display with a supposed 1440 x 720p resolution. The phone seems to have a glossy finish all around with the Moto logo at the back which might double up as a fingerprint scanner. The rear image of the phone also reveals that it may feature a dual camera setup at the back. There is not much else to go on as the image quality is quite bad, but if this is a replacement to the current E-series, it is most certainly a better-designed phone.

You are not the only one if you feel that the Moto E5 Plus in the leaked image bears resemblance to the Moto X4. In fact, the recently leaked images of the Moto G6 phones also show the same design language. A similar looking image render of the Moto E5 Plus was also leaked last month. We are not sure whether the device will have the same glass back, but considering the price bracket these phones might get launched in, it seems improbable. It is also rumored that the Moto G6 phones will feature a fingerprint scanner at the front and the upcoming Moto Z3 Play may have the fingerprint scanner on the side.

Earlier, Motorola was expected to launch at least some of these devices at MWC, but the company did not launch anything new at the event. It was reported a few days back that Lenovo reportedly has finally received certification for the upcoming G6, G6 Plus, G6 Play, E5 and E5 Plus smartphones in Asia. There is little info available on these phones, but the Moto G6 Plus is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC along with 4GB RAM. The phone could be backed by a 3250mAh battery.
