Leaked HTC U12+ case renders point towards quad-camera setup
The renders suggest that the phone might feature a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup at the back, while at the front, the two cameras are located next to the ear piece
HTC has yet to launch a new flagship smartphone and rumours suggest that the phone might come with a quad-camera setup. Yahoo! Taiwan has got its hands on images of a case render, that further lends credence to the fact that the phone might come with a total of four cameras. As per the images, the phone might come with a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup at the back, while at the front, the two cameras are located next to the ear piece.
The images also suggest that the phone might feature a dual-LED flash with a fingerprint scanner under the rear camera setup. It also tipped the phone to come with an 18:9 display aspect ratio and doesn’t seem to have a notch on the display.
The HTC U12+ is tipped to come with a near bezel-less design and a 6-inch LCD panel with a WQHD+ display. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC. It is also expected to offer 6GB RAM with options for either 64GB or 128GB storage. It is also expected to feature two 8MP cameras in the front, while at the back it may feature a 16MP and 12MP cameras. Reports also suggest that the HTC U12+ might be the only high-end smartphone from the company this year.
HTC recently launched two new smartphones calle the Desire 12 and Desire 12 Plus. Both devices feature 18:9 display aspect ratios, but differ in nearly everything else. The HTC Desire 12 sports 5.5-inch HD+ display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 SoC. There is a single 13MP camera at the back, while at the front is a 5MP unit. The HTC Desire 12 Plus sports a larger 6-inch HD+ display and is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC. The phone sports a dual-rear camera setup with 13MP + 2MP cameras, while at the front is an 8MP sensor.
