JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer: Here’s how you can exchange your old feature phone for a JioPhone at Rs 501
HIGHLIGHTS

One can now exchange their old feature phone to get a new JioPhone for Rs 501. However, there are some terms and conditions that need to be adhered to and we have explained them here.

Reliance Jio has announced the details of its JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer, which is a combined offering of the JioPhone for Rs 501, along with an unlimited voice and data plan with six-month validity at Rs 594. The initial announcement of the offer came at RIL’s 41st Annual General Meeting and the offer goes live today. Under the offer, one will be able to exchange their old feature phone with a JioPhone by paying an additional sum of Rs 501. The amount of Rs 501 will be refunded after three years. Jio is also bundling a special recharge plan priced for Rs 594 and as it is a combined offer, users who purchase the JioPhone under the Monsoon Hungama offer will need to perform the recharge.

JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer details:

As mentioned above, customers simply need to exchange their old feature phone for the JioPhone and pay a refundable amount of Rs 501. The offer can be availed at retailers on exchanging any old 2G/3G/ non-VoLTE 4G device but it should be in working condition without any damage/missing parts or broken/burnt parts, and must accompany its charger. Additionally, phones that were sold after January 1, 2015 are eligible for exchange but the device can’t be an older JioPhone or any other carrier locked or CDMA device.

Rs 594 unlimited voice and data recharge details:

Jio is also introducing a special Rs 594 prepaid plan for JioPhone users. This will be activated at the time of purchase and users will get to avail unlimited voice and data benefits on their newly purchased JioPhone for six months. They will get 0.5GB of daily high-speed data, after which the speed will be reduced. Along with the data, there is also unlimited voice calling benefit and 300 SMS for 28 days. Users will also get a bonus 6GB data voucher, worth Rs 101, thus taking the total data benefits to 90 GB over the course of six months.

Customers will get a new Jio SIM while purchasing the JioPhone, however, one can also use Mobile Number Portability (MNP) to port their existing number to Jio’s network.

A Company spokesperson says, “There are currently 2 JioPhone plans available: Rs 49 and Rs 153. The Rs 49 plan is a kind of trial plan with 1 GB monthly data, whereas our highest selling plan Rs 153 provides 1.5 GB data/day. We realized that there are some users who may want lesser data and therefore must get the plan at a lower price. Hence we are introducing Rs 99 with unlimited free voice, 0.5GB data/day and 300 SMS for 28 days. This will reduce the monthly spends straight away by nearly 50%.”

What do you need while availing the offer?

Customers need to carry their Aadhaar number and their Jio SIM with them while availing the offer. They should also have their old, working feature phone with them for exchange, along with its battery and charger. Apart from the battery and charger, there’s no need to carry other accessories like the headphone or the user manual.
