iPhone Ultra price leak: Apple’s foldable can cost over Rs 2.5 lakh in India

Apple’s Surprise and Shine event is almost here. The Cupertino-based tech giant is said to introduce the company’s first foldable iPhone called iPhone Ultra. It can be one of the company’s most expensive smartphones yet with leaked US pricing suggesting that the device may be priced over Rs 2.5 lakh in India.
SurveyHowever, Apple has not confirmed the existence, name or price of the foldable, but reports have increasingly pointed to an “iPhone Ultra” launching alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series on September 9.
Apple iPhone Ultra price leaked
The reported iPhone Ultra US pricing puts the 256GB model at around $2,299, while the 512GB and 1TB variants could cost $2,499 and $2,799, respectively. If these figures are accurate, Indian pricing might be higher once taxes, duties and Apple’s regional pricing strategy are factored in.
Will iPhone Ultra cost over Rs 2.5 lakh?
Simply converting the leaked US price into rupees would not give an accurate estimate of what Apple could charge in India. The company has historically priced its Pro iPhones at a sizable premium in the country, although that gap has narrowed in recent years.
The iPhone 17 Pro, for instance, started at Rs 1,34,900 in India against a $1,099 US starting price. Applying a roughly 30 percent India premium to the leaked foldable pricing would put the 256GB model at around Rs 2.82 lakh. The 512GB and 1TB versions could reach roughly Rs 3.06 lakh and Rs 3.4 lakh, respectively. But it must be noted that these are estimates, not leaked Indian prices.
On the other hand, Samsung has already crossed the Rs 2 lakh mark. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at Rs 1,99,999 in India, while its 1TB variant costs Rs 2,59,999. This means Apple fairly has room for placing its foldable device above the Rs 2 lakh range.
