Apple is gearing up for the release of its upcoming iPhone 16 series. Even though the company has not shared anything about the launch event, the rumour mill is running at full speed. Now, a hands-on video of dummy units has surfaced online. It shows us how the camera looks and even gives us a glimpse of the new Capture button. Read along for details.

iPhone 16 series leaked design

AppleInsider shared a video of the dummy units on the internet. It shows us the camera setups of the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to feature a dual rear camera setup. This can include a 48-megapixel primary wide camera with an f/1.6 aperture and up to 2x zoom and an ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 0.5x zoom. We might also get to see macro photography capabilities for the first time in the base variants. Hence, the cameras are placed vertically as can be seen in the video.

The iPhone 16 Pro and and the 16 Pro Max can have a triple rear camera setup, comprising a wide camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto camera. The Pro models will have the same 48-megapixel primary sensor but will feature a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. The ultra-wide camera could see an upgrade to 48 megapixels with pixel-binning technology. The Pro variants of the iPhone 16 series can also support Apple’s ProRaw photos and a new JPEG-XL image format. It can also support 3K video recording at 120 fps with Dolby Vision.

Initially, I spoke about a Capture Button. It is expected that all four smartphones in the iPhone 16 series can have a capture button on the lower-right corner. You can use it to launch the camera, take videos, and zoom, something similar to a DSLR.
