Huawei Nova 2 series is likely to sport a 20MP selfie camera and will compete with similar offerings from Oppo and Vivo

Huawei might be preparing to introduce Nova 2, just eight months after the launch of the original Nova series. A poster appearing to be the launch invite hints at the device launching on May 26. The poster clearly says the device will be called 'Huawei Nova 2 series' and there might be a plus variant too.

The slogan on the poster obtained by 3533.com roughly translates to "That's one small step for self-shooter, one giant leap for the value of the device." The leak suggests the device will feature a 20MP selfie camera and dual 12MP rear shooters. Chinese smartphone vendors have lately been focusing on selfie-centric smartphones and the Huawei's Nova 2 series might follow the same.

According to GSMArena.com, the Nova 2 will sport a 5.2-inch display, while the Nova 2 Plus will rock a larger 5.5-inch screen. Both the handsets are likely to be powered by Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon 660 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM. Rumours also indicate that the handset will be backed by a 3000mAh battery and support an 18W fast charging technology.

Huawei recently overtook Oppo to become the number one smartphone maker in China for the first quarter of 2017. The company also recently introduced its flagship P10 and P10 Plus smartphones at MWC in February. With Nova 2 series, Huawei might be trying to grab a share of the market now owned by Oppo and Vivo.
