Owners of various top-end HTC phones will be happy to know that HTC is releasing an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for them. Scheduled to arrive some time in the second quarter of 2011, the update will bring the latest Google Android operating system onto the Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S.
[RELATED_ARTICLE]While the just-launched Incredible S shipped with Froyo and was already due to receive a Gingerbread update soon, the other phones, especially the aging HTC Desire, are unexpectedly receiving the update, pleasantly surprising owners and giving them a warm and cosy feeling of after-sales consumer service.
However, let us just hope none of the updates brick any of the devices, or cause battery life or overheating issues.
