HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones, has a bunch of new announcements to make in India on April 4. The company had earlier sent out invites for an event scheduled to be held in New Delhi on April 4, sparking rumours that the 2018 batch of Nokia smartphones will be brought to India on the day. HMD recently launched the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 8110 at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. Now, HMD Global’s VP, Ajay Mehta, has teased an image of the Nokia 7 Plus on Twitter with the caption “Stay tuned,” hinting that the company may indeed be bringing its 2018 smartphone portfolio to the country.

The teaser posted by Mehta on Twitter shows a Nokia 7 Plus held in a gloved hand. The image is also a reference to HMD Global’s partnership with the Kolkata Knight Riders. HMD Global is now the principal sponsor of the IPL team for seasons 11 and 12. Nevertheless, the inclusion of the Nokia 7 Plus in the teaser and the upcoming media event suggest that HMD will be bringing the phone to India on April 4. Sources also tell us that the event will see the launch of multiple Nokia devices, so the Nokia 8110 4G, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 6 (2018) can also be expected.

The Nokia 7 Plus sports a 6-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 4GB RAM. Like all other smartphones launched by Nokia, it is a part of the Android One program and hence is expected to receive timely OS updates and security patches. At the back of the phone is a dual-rear camera setup with a 12MP wide-angle and a 13MP telephoto lens, bothe with Carl Zeiss optics. At the front is a 16MP camera, also with a Zeiss lens.
