Google will fix Pixel 2 buzzing noise with upcoming OTA update
HIGHLIGHTS

The new software update from Google will be rolled out in the coming weeks and will fix the faint buzzing sound experienced by some Pixel 2 owners while making calls.

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have been plagued by multiple issues since the devices were launched back in October. While Pixel 2 XL users were experiencing a number of display problems, Pixel 2 users were also complaining of a faint clicking noise as a result of turning on NFC on the phone. Google may have fixed these issues with software updates, but not all is well with the second-gen Pixel devices.

A number of Pixel 2 owners have been complaining of a faint buzzing noise heard during phone calls. Good news is that Google has acknowledged the issues and will be rolling out an OTA update to fix the problem.

A Pixel User Community manager responded to user complaints regarding the buzzing sound saying, “We're rolling out a software update in the coming weeks which eliminates a faint buzzing sound on some Pixel 2 devices when the phone is placed to your ear during a phone call.”

There is no clarity on when exactly the update will hit Pixel 2 phones, but users can expect it sometime before mid-December.

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are available in India at starting prices of Rs 61,000 and Rs 73,000 respectively. The two smartphones have been critically acclaimed for their superior primary cameras, beating Apple’s iPhone X and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 to the punch.

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL sport a 12.2MP rear camera with a 1/2.6-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture. Both devices feature dual-pixel autofocus and optical image stabilisation. Dual-pixel autofocus and OIS are the two biggest improvements to Pixel phones’ camera this year.

In our review of the Google Pixel 2, we commended the phone for its compact form factor, fast and fluid performance, as well as its excellent camera. The battery life, however, was found to be average. We noted that while you will get by a work day with this device, it will need atleast two charges per day.
