Google is reportedly preparing to introduce a new feature called "Lookup" for Pixel phones.

Google is reportedly preparing to introduce a new feature called “Lookup” in the Phone app for Pixel users. This feature will likely enable Pixel users to identify callers by initiating a search for unfamiliar numbers across different apps installed on their phones.
The Lookup feature was spotted by the tipster AssembleDebug. The tipster noticed the Lookup feature on the Google Phone app beta version 127.0.620688474, reports Piunikaweb.

When you tap on a number you don’t recognise in the ‘Recents’ tab of the Phone app, a ‘Lookup’ button is expected to pop up.

According to the report, when you tap that button, you’ll see a list of apps on your phone that can search the web. The Google Search app is one of them, so it kicks off a search for that number on Google Search.
It looks like this feature is meant to recognise calls from businesses listed on Google, not private individuals. So it’s not trying to take the place of apps like Truecaller. But there’s a chance it could work together with them in the future.

Besides the Lookup feature, AssembleDebug also spotted a minor redesign in the interface of the emergency number dialer during calls.
In my opinion, the Lookup feature on Google Pixel phones could be beneficial for users as it is expected to allow users to easily identify unknown callers by searching across various apps installed on their devices.
Also, with the Lookup feature, users are expected to quickly access information about unknown callers without needing to switch between different apps or perform manual searches on the web.
