Google has finally launched the 8th Generation Pixel series globally. The new Pixel 8 series includes the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. Along with the Pixel smartphones, the tech giant also released the Pixel Watch 2. Talking about smartphones, the Pixel 8 series comes with a similar design to its predecessor. Google offers Ray and Obsidian colour options with the Pro model, and Rose, Hazel, and Obsidian with the standard model. Apart from this, the Pixel 8 series offers much more. 

I am comparing the Pixel 8 Pro with the iPhone 15 Pro. Both smartphones are currently hot in the market and stand out as the best of the best. Let’s see how they compete against each other!

Google Pixel 8 Pro VS iPhone 15 Pro: Display

The Pixel 8 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. It comes with a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels. This display has 2400nits of peak brightness. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display. 

The iPhone 15 Pro features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED with a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels. This display comes with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by the Ceramic Shield Glass and has 2000nits of peak brightness. 

Google Pixel 8 Pro VS iPhone 15 Pro: Performance

The Google Pixel 8 Pro is powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM. The Tensor G3 is a nine-core processor. It runs on the latest Android 14 Operating System. 

On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro is equipped with an A17 Pro SoC. It offers only 8GB of RAM. 

Speaking of performance, the iPhone 15 Pro has been reported to have heating issues, and that too the extreme ones. On the other hand, Pixel’s history is also not good with the heating problem. Let’s see if Google has gotten rid of this problem in the new Pixel 8 or not.

Google Pixels are known for their photography. This year, Google offers a 50-megapixel main camera with PDAF, OIS, and multi-zone Laser AF support. Along with that, there is a 48-megapixel Telephoto sensor with up to 5x Optical Zoom and a 48-megapixel Ultrawide lens. On the front, it sports a 10.5-megapixel selfie shooter.

Google Pixel 8 Pro VS iPhone 15 Pro: Battery

The Google Pixel 8 Pro is packed with a 5050mAh battery with up to 30-watt fast charging support and up to 23-watt wireless charging support. 

However, the iPhone 15 Pro manages to provide a 3274mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support. It also supports up to 15-watt wireless charging and since it has a USB-C port now, it can charge reverse wired too. 

Google Pixel 8 Pro VS iPhone 15 Pro: Price and availability

The Google Pixel 8 Pro has been announced in India at a starting price of ₹1,06,999. If you want to buy this smartphone, it will be available on Flipkart from October 12. The brand will also be running a ₹9000 off on select banks as a launch discount. 

Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro is available on Apple’s official website at a price of ₹1,34,900. Apple is also running a Trade-in offer that promises a discount of up to ₹67,800.
