Fishy details about rumoured Nokia Lumia 950 surface online
HIGHLIGHTS

An alleged Nokia Lumia 950 leak has surfaced, but its credibility seems to be a little shaky.

Alleged shots of a yet-to-be-revealed Nokia Lumia 950 have surfaced on the internet. According to WPCentral, the source is not a trusted one, and the leak should be taken with a generous pinch of salt. Quite a few of the facts surrounding the leak also take away from its credibility.

For starters, according to the leak, the phone will not be carrying the mammoth 41 megapixel sensor everyone keeps expecting Nokia to toss into their next flagship. So, it is possible that the Nokia Lumia 950 is not a flagship phone and it is also possible that the 41 megapixel sensor won’t ever make it into a Lumia phone.

Next, the phone’s display will supposedly continue to sport a 1280×768 pixel resolution, with no plans of 1080p resolution support. The logic behind refraining from full HD display seems to be that Nokia is putting a lot of focus on improved battery life, and since the display is the biggest drain on batteries, it makes sense to stick to a lower resolution. Lastly, the tipster has said that the Lumia 950 will have 2GB of onboard RAM.

The problem with the entire Lumia 950 leak, unfortunately, seems to be the photo of the device itself. It seems to have the Nokia branding and Lumia 950 lettering in the right places, but the text looks over-sharpened, almost like it was put through a few cycles of Photoshop.

The biggest giveaway however, is the Windows Phone logo on the home button, which is noticeably oddly-shaped, so we wouldn’t give too much weight to this rumour unless more shots surface.
