Apple iPhone 18 Pro leak reveals smaller selfie cutout, camera upgrades and A20 Pro chip

For a long time now, we’ve been hearing a lot of rumours about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 series. A new video leak has added more fuel to the rumour trail by offering an early look at what could be the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The video was shared by well-known tech insider Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech and includes alleged renders showing the phone’s design, cameras, internal parts, and more.

One of the most noticeable changes appears on the front of the device. According to the leak, Apple may finally reduce the size of the front sensor area. Instead of the familiar pill-shaped cutout, some Face ID sensors could be hidden under the display. This would leave only a small hole for the selfie camera. Even more interesting, the front camera is shown in the top-left corner rather than in the centre, which would be a first for iPhones. Dynamic Island is still expected to remain.

The rear camera setup could also get a major upgrade. The leak suggests that at least the iPhone 18 Pro Max may feature a variable-aperture main camera. This means the lens can physically adjust how much light enters the sensor. Such a change could improve portrait photos and help capture better images in low-light conditions.

Another small but important change could be the camera control button. Apple may replace the current touch-based system with a pressure-sensitive button. This could give users a more natural and satisfying feel when taking photos or recording videos.

Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to run on Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip. This chip is rumoured to be built using TSMC’s 2nm process. The leak also hints that Apple could introduce its own C2 modem, reducing its dependence on third-party suppliers for network connectivity.

It’s important to note that these details are not confirmed by the tech giant itself. If Apple sticks to its usual schedule, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to be unveiled in September 2026.
