Various vulnerabilities have been identified across Android versions 15, 14, 13, 12, and 12L. These bugs can give hackers an opportunity to steal sensitive data, gain elevated system access, execute malicious code, or even crash devices. The warning read, “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Android, which could be exploited by an attacker to obtain sensitive information, gain elevated privileges, execute arbitrary code, or cause denial of service (DoS) on the targeted system.”

If you are someone who is using any of these Android versions, then you need to be careful. The most concerning vulnerability, CVE-2024-53104, is already being actively exploited in the wild. Hackers could use these flaws to gain unauthorised control over affected devices.
To stay safe, you should update your device and install the latest security patches. In addition, use only the Google Play Store to download apps and avoid any other third-party sources. Also, to stay even safer, you should enable Google Play Protect as it scans and blocks harmful apps.
Further, review app permissions, remove any unnecessary access to your data, and avoid clicking on unknown links in messages or emails. Lastly, at all times, make sure that your data is backed up as you never know when a cyber attack will happen and you can lose out on all of the data.
As cyber threats are becoming more common daily, it is our responsibility to keep ourselves safe and make the practices I mentioned above a daily habit. Stay safe!
