Microsoft has made a big move by adding a new key to Windows PC’s keyboards. Yes, that’s right, after almost 30 years, we will now see a major change in Windows PC’s keyboards. The tech giant has announced that it will add a ‘Copilot’ key to the keyboards of Windows 11 PCs. Copilot is Microsoft’s AI chatbot that had been integrated into Microsoft 365 previously. Now, it seems Microsoft will be expanding its AI game, starting with this. Let’s understand what it is and how it is going to work.

What is Copilot?

Copilot is Microsoft’s AI chatbot that helps exactly how other chatbots do. You can ask for queries, codes, problems, and much more. For those who don’t know, Copilot is based out of Bing Chat of Microsoft Edge. Copilot is powered by Microsoft’s Prometheus model that is based on OpenAI’s GPT 4. This means Copilot will be as powerful as other chatbots out there.

How will the Copilot key work in PCs?

First and foremost, only Windows 11 PCs will get the Copilot key, as all the latest PCs come with the Windows 11 operating system. Speaking of its placement, you will get the Copilot key between the ‘right Alt’ and the ‘left arrow key’. It seems the ‘right Ctrl’ will be removed from the keyboard and honestly, it wasn’t much of a use as well.

Now the big question is what will it do? Well, it’s pretty simple. The key is there, you just have to tap it and a sidebar will appear. This will be the chat between you and Copilot, where you can ask your questions and it will answer them in seconds.
