Xiaomi Pad 8 with 3.2K display, 9200mAh battery launched in India: Check price and specifications
Xiaomi Pad 8 has officially launched in India today with an aim to replace your laptop or at least make you seriously question whether you still need one. Xiaomi claims that the Pad 8 has been positioned around the frustration users have about high-performance laptops being heavy and inconvenient or tend to cut corners on capability. Here’s everything you need to know about the Xiaomi Pad 8 specifications, features, price and availability in India.
SurveyXiaomi Pad 8 specifications and features
The Xiaomi Pad 8 comes in two versions: a nano-texture option that reduces glaring reflections for offices, classrooms and outdoor usage and a standard option with a glossy screen that’s best suited for your entertainment needs with a stronger contrast and vivid colours.
The Pad 8 is thinner and lighter than the Pad 7, measuring 5.8 mm and 485 grams. It features a 11.2-inch 12-bit display with 3.2K (3200×2136 pixels) resolution, 144Hz refresh rate with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid support.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which Xiaomi says delivers 32 percent better CPU performance and over 50 percent better GPU performance compared to the Pad 7. It comes with LPDDR5T memory and UFS 4.1 storage, which translates to faster file loads and more fluid multitasking.
It runs on HyperOS 3, which introduces a vertical split-screen layout for running two apps simultaneously, a horizontal compact view for keeping secondary tools like a calculator or chat window open in the background and a Workstation Mode that expands the dock and brings in a more desktop-like interface. There’s also PC-level browser support, meaning right-click menus, hover previews and a more complete toolbar.
Battery capacity has gone up from 8,850mAh to 9,200mAh, which Xiaomi says is the largest they’ve ever put in a tablet. It supports 45W charging and a 67W charger comes in the box, which is worth noting because chargers in the box are increasingly rare. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging.
Then there’s the new Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro. It supports over 16,000 pressure levels and claims under 1ms latency. The notable addition here is rotation support which Xiaomi claims makes it the first Android stylus with that capability, which will help illustrators and anyone doing detailed design work where brush angle affects the stroke.
In addition, the Pad 8 is backward compatible with the Focus Pen and Focus Keyboard from the Pad 7.
