AI has taken the world by storm and everyone is trying to get on board with the trend. Every other day I come here and share some news about AI, its key players, and developments. Today, I am back with just that. Elon Musk, the guy behind Tesla, seems to be highly involved in the AI game. He co-founded OpenAI, has his own xAI now, and seems to be pushing it to greater heights. Now, Musk has made a pretty controversial, and at the same time a scary statement. He revealed the date by which artificial intelligence will match human intelligence.

What did Elon Musk predict about AI?

In an interview with Nicolai Tangen, CEO of Norway’s wealth fund, on Monday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk predicted things about the future of AI. The most controversial out of all that he said, was the date that he gave by when the robotic intelligence will match our human intelligence. He said that AI will easily surpass human intelligence as soon as next year, or at the latest, by 2026. He also acknowledged the hurdles that there are in its way of development, but he’s still pretty confident.

Further, he also spoke about xAI’s chatbot, Grok. He said that the next version of Grok might get fully trained by May. At the same time, he also spoke about the challenges that xAI is facing during its development. He said there is a shortage of advanced chips in the market right now which is giving them a bit of struggle. He revealed how the training of the Grok 2 model needs over 20,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs. The number will only increase in the future.

Musk has been trying hard to promote Grok, but do you think that he made a false prediction? Let me know your thoughts.
