Twitter reveals three new Cards at developer meet
HIGHLIGHTS

The new Cards will give publishers more freedom to share different types of content.

Twitter unveiled three new ‘Cards’; the App Card, Gallery Card, and Product Card, at its developer conference on April 2, as tweeted by Dave McClure.

These ‘Cards’ will allow developers to display photo-galleries, highlight merchandise with details, or provide information and direct links to the respective apps on Google Play or App Store in a process called deep-linking – all in a single tweet.

With mobile-app-deep-linking, by clicking on the link provided in the tweet users can either directly download the app or use it.

The blog post further mentions that the new Cards came in response to publishers who wished to share different types of content after using the previously released Summary, Photo, and Player Cards.

Twitter has clarified that the new system is backward compatible and that previous Cards can be integrated with the new Cards.

Twitter has stated their wish to partner with Delectable, Etsy, Flickr, Foursquare, Gumroad, Jawbone, Path, Rovio’s Angry Birds, SoundCloud, Storenvy, Wine Library, and Vine.
