Samsung One UI 8 update is already available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Now, the South Korean giant has announced that the One UI 8 beta will be rolling out to the older generation starting next week. The new Android 16-based update will bring in new features, a refreshed interface, and much more.

Currently, the One UI 8 beta is available with the Galaxy S25 series, and now it will be available for the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Here’s everything about the One UI 8, including the supported devices, beta update, and more.

One UI 8 beta update release timeline

Starting next week, the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 will get the update. The beta update will be available in India, South Korea, the UK, and the US. The company has confirmed that older devices like the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, and A54 will be getting the beta update in September.

The company will begin rolling out the Android 16-based One UI 8 later this year. However, the exact dates remain under wraps.

One UI 8 beta: How to download

If you want to try out the new update before the stable release, you can do so by downloading the beta version. To download the app, users will have to open or install the Samsung Members app and sign in using their Samsung account. Now, tap on the One UI 8 beta program. Now register the details and follow the on-screen prompts. After this, the beta update will be available for download.

The users are advised to take the backup of the data as the beta versions are usually unstable and may have some bugs.

One UI 8: features

The One UI 8 will bring some visual changes, performance upgrades, and more. It will include an enhanced split-screen view and improved Samsung DeX to connect the device with large screens. Quick Share and My Files will also see some improvements. The company will also introduce revamped Calendar and Reminder apps for better organisation.

The update will also bring Secure Folder, which can hide apps and notifications when locked. The camera is also said to be better with quicker access to controls with a simple swipe gesture. It will also bring some enhanced accessibility features.
