Vivo has already announced OriginOS 6, its next generation Android 16 based skin in China. The new update brings some big changes including a fresh, translucent visual aesthetic look, much like Apple iOS 26 along with system performance, enhanced battery life, and deeper AI integration. Now, the Vivo and iQOO users in India will be getting the update this week. Here’s everything about the OriginOS 6 release date, eligible devices and features.

OriginOS 6 release date

The OriginOS 6 will be unveiled on October 15 globally. It will then roll out to iQOO and Vivo devices in India in a phased manner starting with the flagship devices. The new update will bring along new interface, AI features and more customised options to make day to day use better.

OriginOS 6: What’s new

The OriginOS 6 will bring new design, characterised by soft translucency, layered depth, and realistic shadow effects. The new Gradual Blur system helps users visually separate UI layers, while the Light and Shadow Space feature adds subtle motion and lighting transitions. Vivo has also revamped lock screen notifications, added interactive wallpapers that respond to movement, and introduced new animations for the Xiao V AI assistant.

In terms of performance, the OriginOS 6 will bring smoother performance and better efficiency. As per the company, the software will offer 15 per cent improvement in memory optimisation, 11 per cent faster app launches and 18 per cent longer video playback time.

The update will also bring a slew of AI features. It includes a tool using which the users can remove unwanted objects from Live Photos, organize notes and reminders through the Xiao V Memory 2.0 hub, and perform natural language searches across system apps like Files, Notes, and Email.

OriginOS 6 eligible devices

Starting with the Vivo X Series, the Vivo X200 lineup includes the X200, X200 Pro, X200 Ultra, X200 FE, X200s, and X200 Pro mini. Older flagships like the Vivo X100, X100 Pro, X100 Ultra, X100s, X100s Pro, and the Vivo X90 series (X90, X90 Pro, X90 Pro+, X90s) will also receive the update.

Foldable devices are part of the first wave too, including the Vivo X Fold 5, X Fold 3 Pro, X Fold 2, and X Flip. In the Vivo V Series, the new software will roll out from the V30 series onwards, with eligible models such as the V60, V60e, V60 Lite, V60 Lite 4G, V50 lineup, and the V40 and V30 series variants (including SE, Pro, and Lite models).

The Vivo T Series will continue to benefit from extended software support, with the T4 lineup (T4, T4 Lite, T4 Pro, T4 Ultra, T4x, T4R) and T3 series (T3, T3 Lite, T3 Pro, T3 Ultra, T3x) all qualifying for the update.

Even the budget-friendly Vivo Y Series will see select models upgraded, such as the Y400, Y300, Y200, and Y39 lineups, including both 4G and Pro variants.

On the iQOO side, the flagship devices – iQOO 13, 12, 12 Pro, 11, 11s, and 11 Pro – will be among the first to receive OriginOS 6. The iQOO Neo series (Neo 10, Neo 10R, Neo 9, Neo 9 Pro) and the iQOO Z series (Z10, Z9, and their Lite, Pro, and x variants) are also confirmed for the update.
