One UI 8 release date for Galaxy S24, S23 and other devices confirmed: Here’s when users may get Android 16 update

Samsung has already begun releasing the Android 16-based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series. The company has reportedly confirmed the official One UI 8 release date for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and other last-generation devices in other countries. Previously, only the Galaxy S25 FE, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE received the new update, but last-generation users are expected to get the update soon.

In a community post, Samsung Brazil confirmed the One UI 8 release date. However, it should be noted that in India, the update rollout may take a few extra days. That being said, nothing is verified at the moment.

One UI 8 release schedule:

Samsung Brazil has confirmed the One UI 8 release timeline for Galaxy devices, starting with the flagship Galaxy S25 series, which began receiving the update on September 18. The Galaxy S24 series, including the S24+, S24 FE, and S24 Ultra, will follow on September 25. Users of the Galaxy S23 lineup will get the update from October 2, while the Galaxy S22 series is scheduled for October 6. The Galaxy S21 FE will be updated on October 16.

Samsung’s foldable devices are also part of the rollout. The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 will be updated from September 25. The Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 are next in line on October 2, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 will receive the new version from October 6.

In the mid-range segment, the Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G will start receiving One UI 8 on September 25. This will be followed by the Galaxy A55 5G, A35 5G, A26, and A17 models from October 2. The Galaxy A54 5G, A34 5G, A25 5G, and A16 series are scheduled for October 6, while devices like the Galaxy A73 5G, A53 5G, A24, and A15 are set for October 16. The rollout for the Galaxy A33 5G will begin on October 23.

Samsung’s tablets are also included in the update timeline. The Galaxy Tab S10 series, including the Tab S10+, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10 FE, and Tab S10 Lite, will get the update from October 2. The Galaxy Tab S9 series will follow on October 6, while the Tab S8 lineup, including the Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra, is expected to be updated on October 16.

Do note that the rollout dates currently apply to South Korea and Brazil, and the official India schedule remains under wraps at the moment.
