AWS down: The Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently experiencing a major outage affecting users in the US and India. According to outage tracking platform Down Detector, thousands of users reported problems with services including PlayStation Network, DoorDash, Valorant, and League of Legends. While some users faced login failures, others reported server connection problems and difficulties accessing applications. While the root cause of the outage still remains unknown, the services are now restoring. Here’s everything you need to know about the AWS outage.

The AWS outage created problems for multiple platforms in the United States, with users reporting difficulties accessing several online services. DoorDash recorded more than 4000 complaints, with nearly 90 per cent of users reporting issues with the application. Users also reported login problems and website-related errors.
The gaming services were some of the hardest hit. For instance, there was an issue with Valorant, where more than 1000 reports were made. Some of these involved issues such as launching the game, connecting to the server, and login errors. The same thing happened for users of League of Legends.
AWS down in India
Disruptions have also been experienced by Indian users using AWS services. A number of websites faced difficulties that affected people accessing their applications and games. The outage affected several regions, not just one because the problem was similar in all of those areas.
PlayStation Network outage in US and India
PlayStation Network was among the major platforms affected during the outage. Down Detector recorded more than 7000 complaints related to PSN. Around 48 per cent of users reported server connection issues, while 36 per cent faced login problems. Another 11 per cent of players reported gameplay-related difficulties.

What did AWS say?
