How to change your Aadhaar address online

Follow the below steps to change your Aadhaar number with ease and quickly;

1. First of all, visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). UIDAI is the government body that provides residents with an Aadhaar number. 

2. Upon arriving on the home page of UIDAI, you will see the “My Aadhaar” tab. Select the “Update Your Address Online” option from the menu.

3. Insert your 28-digit enrolment ID number or 12-digit Aadhaar number and finally enter the security code.

4. Select, the “Send OTP” button, and you will receive the OTP on your registered mobile number (RMN). Enter the OTP (One-Time Password) received on your RMN.

5. Click on the option to update your address and fill in all the required details about your new address. 

6. The system will ask you to upload supporting documents for address proof such as your passport, voter ID card, utility bill, or bank statement. Remember to keep these handy before you start the process of changing your Aadhaar address. 

7. Before you click “Submit”, read through all your details once again for confirmation. 

8. Upon submission, you will receive an acknowledgement slip with a URN (Update Request Number). URN will act as a status tracker for this Aadhaar address update. 

9. Once the process is complete, the request will be verified by UIDAI and your address will be updated. You will receive a new Aadhaar Card at your updated address.
